THE WOUND WE ARE HERE TO HEAL

The Circle Was Always Meant to Hold This

For most of human history, the entire womb continuum was held with ceremony, community, and the deep knowing of those who came before. From a young person’s first bleed to the many rites of passage that followed through a lifetime of cycles, each threshold was received by elders, marked with ritual, and witnessed by the whole.

Within just a few generations, this was largely dismantled. The culture many of us were raised in replaced the sacred with the clinical, the cyclical with the shameful, the communal with the solitary. Many of us know this not as ancient history, but as personal history. It lives in our own stories of first bleeds that happened quietly, without witness or celebration.

Most of us received nothing but a few pads slipped quietly into our hands and an awkward silence that told us more than any words could. And so, most of us, even now, carry that silence in our bodies.

The Maiden’s Moon is the remembrance, and the repair.

“I have spent years disconnected from my cycle. I didn’t know another way was even possible.”

“I want to give the young people in my life something I never had. But I don’t know where to begin.”

“I feel called to this work, but am I really qualified? Do I have anything meaningful to offer?”

WHERE WE STAND

A growing movement of educators and ceremonialists is reclaiming menarche as the sacred threshold it has always been. The Maiden’s Moon adds to this chorus the healing language of East Asian Medicine, rooting cyclical wisdom in the body’s own ancient map.

This program is designed for caregivers, mothers, aunties, grandmothers, teachers, healers, and anyone who feels the pull toward this work. Whether you are new to circle holding or already walking this path, the Maiden’s Moon will ground you in the wisdom, tools, and confidence to become a trusted guide in your community.

Here, you will learn to hold sacred space for maidens as they discover their menstrual cycles, not merely as a barometer of health, but as a source of power and a bridge to the rhythms of nature. Rooted in the timeless principles of East Asian Medicine and earth-based traditions, this program will empower you to guide the next generation with wisdom, compassion, and presence.

And through this work, you will meet and tend to your own inner maiden, too.

“I have really enjoyed this 5 week journey with The Way of Yin. Kris’s energy and teaching is charged with the energy of her grounded, nurturing and thorough approach in each meeting and lesson. Maidens and Menstruation took my inner maiden on a journey that incited much of my own inquiry and self reflection. Kris was able to steward myself and the group through some emotions that came up as well as navigate us into the depths of understanding the why beyond the surface of what our bodies physically express during this rite of passage. Our time together moved quite quickly and I’ll miss our community. One of my favourite parts was the community and interaction amid each other. It felt like medicine for the heart.

Thank you, Kris for your guidance and teachings, you have a nourishing way of holding space through which I felt so welcome throughout our time together. I’m so excited to share this work out there in the world ❤️.”

Emma

“This mentorship was such a beautiful experience, from the beginning I felt very held & supported by Kris who really respected the tenderness that could potentially be felt when moving through this framework. I have deepened my knowledge & understanding of cycles, puberty, rites of passage & of myself! I feel like I have learnt a new way of holding this within my own lineage. I'm looking forward to sharing what I've learnt with my own daughter & feel excited to bring this into my local community. Thank you so much Kris.”
