𖣊
A 5-week certification program rooting you in East Asian Medicine, ancestral cyclical wisdom, and the sacred art of holding space for maidens entering their first seasons of menstruation.
"Kris was able to steward myself and the group through some emotions that came up as well as navigate us into the depths of understanding “the why” beyond the surface of what our bodies physically express during this rite of passage."

THE WOUND WE ARE HERE TO HEALThe Circle Was Always Meant to Hold This
For most of human history, the entire womb continuum was held with ceremony, community, and the deep knowing of those who came before. From the first bleed to the many rites of passage that followed through a lifetime of cycles, each threshold was received by elders, marked with ritual, and witnessed by the whole.
Within just a few generations, this was largely dismantled. The culture many of us were raised in replaced the sacred with the clinical, the cyclical with the shameful, the communal with the solitary. Many of us know this not as ancient history, but as personal history. It lives in our own stories of first bleeds that happened quietly, without witness or celebration.
Most of us received nothing but a few pads slipped quietly into our hands and an awkward silence that told us more than any words could. And so, most of us, even now, carry that silence in our bodies.
The Maiden’s Moon is the remembrance, and the repair.
“I have spent years disconnected from my cycle. I didn’t know another way was even possible.”
“I want to give the young people in my life something I never had. But I don’t know where to begin.”
“I feel called to this work, but am I really qualified? Do I have anything meaningful to offer?”
WHERE WE STANDA growing movement of educators and ceremonialists is reclaiming menarche as the sacred threshold it has always been. The Maiden’s Moon adds to this chorus the healing language of East Asian Medicine, rooting cyclical wisdom in the body’s own ancient map.
This program is designed for caregivers, mothers, aunties, grandmothers, teachers, healers, and anyone who feels the pull toward this work. Whether you are new to circle holding or already walking this path, the Maiden’s Moon will ground you in the wisdom, tools, and confidence to become a trusted guide in your community.
Here, you will learn to hold sacred space for maidens as they discover their menstrual cycles, not merely as a barometer of health, but as a source of power and a bridge to the rhythms of nature. Rooted in the timeless principles of East Asian Medicine and earth-based traditions, this program will empower you to guide the next generation with wisdom, compassion, and presence.
And through this work, you will meet and tend to your own inner maiden, too.

FOR THE MAIDENS YOU WILL GUIDEWhat Happens Inside the Circle
When our maidens are met with knowledge, reverence, and community at the threshold of menarche, something profound shifts. Here is what the maidens in your circles may carry home.
-
Instead of fear or confusion, maidens leave with an understanding of their cycle as intelligent, purposeful, and deeply connected to the natural world around them.
-
Many maidens absorb menstrual shame before their first bleed even arrives. Circle creates a counter-narrative: the body is not something to manage or hide. It is something to know and honor.
-
The four phases of the cycle become a personal map, a language for the ebbs and flows of energy, emotion, and creativity that will guide them for the rest of their lives.
-
Circle gives young people the experience of being held by a community, seen in their transition, and welcomed into something much older than themselves.
-
Through ceremony and story, maidens begin to feel the long thread of ancestral wisdom that runs through them, and the honor of being part of its continuation.
-
Dietary guidance, self-care practices, and cyclical awareness give maidens practical wisdom they can return to again and again as their bodies grow and change.

ON JING, ANCESTRY, AND THE NEW LINEAGEYou Are Both River and Source
East Asian Medicine teaches that Jing, the concentrated creative essence passed to us through our ancestors, is the living thread connecting every generation. We are not separate from those who came before us. Their wisdom, their losses, their unspoken rites of passage all flow through us.
“We draw from the wisdom of our ancestors, and at the same time, we must forge forward. Our ancestors could not have imagined the world we are navigating now. They could not have dreamed the challenges our maidens face.”
You are being asked to do something entirely new: to honor what has been, and to create what has never existed. To hold the ancient thread while weaving your own strand into the great tapestry.
One day, you will be the ancestor someone draws upon. The circles you hold, the ceremonies you create, the culture you forge will outlive you. They will become the traditions future generations return to for remembrance and repair.
What will be your mark? What will be your weave?
WHAT YOU’LL GAINYou Will Leave Transformed
This is not a passive course. It is a mentorship that moves through you, as a facilitator, and as a cyclical being returning to your own wholeness.

VOICES FROM THE CIRCLEJenny @jenniferjimeno_
“I have really enjoyed this 5-week journey with The Way of Yin. Kris’s energy and teaching is charged with the energy of her grounded, nurturing and thorough approach in each meeting and lesson. Maidens and Menstruation took my inner maiden on a journey that incited much of my own inquiry and self-reflection. Kris was able to steward myself and the group through some emotions that came up as well as navigate us into the depths of understanding “the why” beyond the surface of what our bodies physically express during this rite of passage. Our time together moved quite quickly and I’ll miss our community. One of my favorite parts was the community and interaction amid each other. It felt like medicine for the heart.
Thank you, Kris for your guidance and teachings, you have a nourishing way of holding space through which I felt so welcome throughout our time together. I’m so excited to share this work out there in the world ❤️.”
Emma @namamama.uk
“This mentorship was such a beautiful experience, from the beginning I felt very held & supported by Kris who really respected the tenderness that could potentially be felt when moving through this framework. I have deepened my knowledge & understanding of cycles, puberty, rites of passage & of myself! I feel like I have learnt a new way of holding this within my own lineage. I'm looking forward to sharing what I've learnt with my own daughter & feel excited to bring this into my local community. Thank you so much Kris.”

Dr. Kris González is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine with a clinical specialization in female reproductive health. A Nourishing Life Tradition (養生, yǎng shēng) practitioner and the founder of The Way of Yin, she has dedicated her practice to bridging the wellness gap in reproductive health through timeless ancestral wisdom.

Through her deep grounding in East Asian Medicine principles and her lived experience as a circle holder, she brings both precision and tenderness to this work that is rare in the field.
The Maiden’s Moon is her offering to both the next generation and to every person who feels called to guide them.
“There is so much I’ve learned from holding these circles. I want to share it all with you.”
SACRED QUESTIONSThings the Heart Asks
-
Let this question land gently, and take a moment to listen to what moves in your body when you read it.
The truth is: most of us are still maidens ourselves. Even those of us who are full-on caregivers, with young people in our homes. Most of us were never properly initiated. We never received the circle we are now called to hold.
That is not a disqualification. It is the very reason you are here.
Acknowledging what we lacked and what we lost is the first act of ownership this work requires. This program is designed to meet you there, in the gap, and walk you toward the confidence, knowledge, and healing that will allow you to show up fully for others.
No prior experience is required. Your longing to hold these spaces and your willingness to do your own inner work are your greatest qualifications.
Whether you are a mother, an auntie, a healer, a teacher, or simply someone who feels deeply called, you belong here.
You don't need to have all the answers. You just need to be ready to begin. Together, we will honor the sacred wisdom of the body, the cycles of nature, and the ancestral knowledge that already flows through you.
🌸 You are being called. And that is enough.
-
We meet live every Tuesday at 11am PST for 2 hours, beginning May 26th. The program runs for 5 weeks. All sessions are recorded and available for replay, so you can learn at your own pace while still receiving the full benefit of the live community container.
-
You will have lifetime access to all course materials, including future updates and new content as the curriculum evolves. What you learn here is yours to return to again and again.
-
You have one year from the completion of the five-week program to apply for certification. To receive it, you will need to attend all live sessions (or watch the recordings) and complete the workbook assignments. These are not hoops; they are part of the initiatory process of becoming a Moonlit Mentor.
-
Absolutely, and we deeply encourage it. The Maiden’s Moon offers a living framework, not a rigid script. You are invited to weave in the traditions, stories, and ceremonial practices from your own lineage. We believe that integrity in this work comes from rootedness, and your roots are irreplaceable.
-
This is one of the most common questions, and we cover it in depth inside the program. The curriculum explores how to hold circles for young people at various stages: pre-menarche, peri-menarche, and just after the first bleed. You will learn how to read your community’s needs and identify the age range that aligns most naturally with your energy and context.
OUR VISIONThe World Needs You!
Amid a culture that silences the body’s deep knowing and forgets the rhythmic nature of all living things, becoming a Moonlit Mentor is a radical act of remembrance. You hold space for a different way of being, one rooted in cyclical wisdom, intergenerational care, and the sanctity of every threshold.
We envision a world where every young person approaching their first bleed is met with understanding, lifted in deep relationship, and empowered to tend to their own wellbeing and the flourishing of their communities. Where menstruation is not managed in shame but honored in circle. Where the wisdom of the body is not whispered or hidden, but lived and shared across generations.
The Maiden’s Moon is not just a certification. It is an initiation into a lineage of care. And the lineage needs you in it.
AN INVITATIONAre You Ready to Begin?
Spring does not ask us to bloom all at once. It asks us to trust the process of becoming, one cycle at a time.
Your inner maiden is waiting to be seen, honored, and given permission to move freely once more. And through that healing, you will become exactly the guide the next generation is longing for.
